lupusstudy.org The Genetics of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

A research study at the University of Minnesota, sponsored by the National Institute of Health and the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota.

Our goal is to identify and understand the genetic factors that contribute to Lupus. We hope to discover why certain people get Lupus by identifying these inherited genetic factors. This research will allow development of better ways to diagnose and treat this disease.

Do you or a family member have Systemic Lupus? If so, you can be involved in the search for the cause. We are looking nationwide for individuals with lupus or families with two or more family members with lupus.

Timothy W. Behrens, M.D. is the Principal Investigator on this project and is a Professor of Medicine and a Rheumatologist at the University of Minnesota. He is responsible for the overall direction and management of the study.
